About Delta Heat Basketball

 Drew started coaching in '02-'03 at Pleasant Valley HS in Chico as an assistant coach for the varsity team while finishing his Master's degree at Chico St. University. 

After that season, Drew was hired as head frosh coach at Antioch High School for the 2003-2004 season. Immediately after that season, he was hired as varsity coach for Antioch High School at age 25. In only his second season as varsity coach, his team set the school record for the number of wins in a season in '05-'06. That record was broken the year after in '06-'07. 

Drew moved on to coach at Freedom HS following the '06-'07 season. In his first season as varsity coach at Freedom, they qualified for the Division One playoffs for the first time in the school's history. 

Drew was head coach at Freedom from '08-'19. During that span, Freedom qualified for NCS D1 playoffs consistently and also qualified for NorCal playoffs five years in a row from '11-'15. 

Freedom was a North Coast Section runner-up in 2014 and NorCal second place that same season, losing in OT in the State semi-final game. 

Freedom won three BVAL Championships in a row from 204-2016. He also set the school record in 2014 for the number of wins in a season, which still stands today. 

Drew resigned from Freedom in 2019 to coach his son, Chase. In 2021, he started the Delta Heat AAU basketball program, which is now a program for many kids in the Community. Drew aims to "Teach and coach kids in our community to become the best version of themselves so they can help make the world a better place." 

We practice  at indoor  top-notch local facilities.  Athletes have the opportunity to practice at local high schools, middle schools and recreational courts.

We offer custom team uniforms that are both stylish and functional. Our uniforms are designed with the latest fabrics and technologies to help you perform at your best, while still looking great on the court.

We believe in giving back to the community, and we offer a range of outreach programs to help young athletes develop their skills and build their confidence. From youth clinics to skills camps, we're committed to making a positive impact on the next generation of athletes.

We offer a range of competitive opportunities for players of all skill levels. Whether you're looking for a local tournaments or a more competitive travel tournament environment, we participate in a variety of events. Our teams play two weekends a month on average.
